Fort Belmont Celebrates Pioneer Days ~ September 6th and 7th, 2014
The weekend after Labor Day provides an opportunity to gather with friends of Fort Belmont and step back in time to early days of Jackson County. Blacksmithing, spinning and loom demonstrations, lefse making and other trades of the 1800s era will be on display. Horse-drawn wagon rides provide an experience of early day transportation. Various authors on early history of the area give presentations throughout the day and are available for discussions. The Fort will be open for tours on both days, Saturday and Sunday.
On Sunday, please join us for a special presentation by the New Ulm Battery with shooting every 1/2 hour from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Find more information about the New Ulm Battery group at: http://www.newulmtel.net/~municipal/battery
