Rendezvous at Fort Belmont ~ September 6th and 7th, 2014
The weekend after Labor Day provides an opportunity to gather with the buck skinners at the annual Fort Belmont Rendezvous. Primitive camping, cooking over an open fire, blacksmithing, demonstrations of pioneer living and other trades of the 1800’s era will be on display. Watch or join in the black powder rifle shoot on Saturday, along with a tomahawk throw and kid’s games. Horse-drawn wagon rides provide an experience of early day transportation. Various authors on early history of the area give presentations throughout the day and are available for discussion and questions. The Fort is open for tours this weekend on both Saturday and Sunday.
