Fort Belmont Celebrates 150 Years ~ September 6th and 7th, 2014

Ft Belmont Rendezvous 2007 012

The weekend after Labor Day provides an opportunity to gather with friends of Fort Belmont, 150 years after the original Fort Belmont was built for protection of early settlers. Blacksmithing, spinning and loom demonstrations, lefse making and other trades of the 1800s era will be on display. Horse-drawn wagon rides provide an experience of early day transportation. Various authors on early history of the area give presentations throughout the day and are available for discussions. On Sunday, please join us for a special presentation by the New Ulm Battery with shooting every 1/2 hour from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The Fort will be open for tours on both days, Saturday and Sunday.
